The “Secret” of The Secret

Dave Mac Arthur, the “Mechanic to Millionaire” and his twice-weekly podcast is a must-listen for Kickass Life Practitioners.

The Kickass Life is proud to co-produce a podcast called “Mechanic to Millionaire” with Dave Mac Arthur.  In his show, Dave really digs into the teachings of “The Secret”, and how following the Laws of The Secret, he was able to go from being a Honda Mechanic, to a guy that makes over 15k/week in residual income.

His show runs Mondays and Fridays.  (We did that intentionally so you wouldn’t have to choose between The Kickass Life and M2M.  )

Rather than go through the whole show, we’d love if you’d read his bio, then click on the links and check out the podcast!

Here’s Dave’s bio:

I’m Dave. My buddies in the shop used to call me DMAC. I’m 45 and coming up on 50 real quick, but I feel like life is just getting started. I think that 50 is the new 20. I feel better than I ever have. I’m actually looking healthier and younger, and life–well, life can always get better–but it’s pretty amazing for me right now.

I’ve been married twenty two years to the most amazing, loving, smart, talented and most beautiful woman, Cary. We have five amazing children, and we live in Southern Utah in a very scenic and gorgeous town called St George.

I like to do a lot of things, such as: riding bike, reading, traveling with my wife (and with the kids–sometimes :) exercising, playing the drums, drawing, writing, being with my family, listening to music, and I recently started playing golf to force myself to relax a little (I can get pretty focused and intense.) I also love working with my hands–thus, “the mechanic.”

Life has been a very interesting journey for me. I’ve done things that I will always treasure, things I regret, things I am proud of, and things I would love to forget. I grew up in Anaheim, the big Orange County, and lived right down the street from Knott’s Berry Farm and Disneyland. My wife grew up in a very small town in Utah, and she was just amazed that people actually lived in Anaheim when we first met (gotta love small towns.) I knew she was the “one.” From the first time we met to the time we were married was just two months, and it was the best decision of my life, then and now (that should be worth a few points when she reads this. “)

Growing up, I did little else than play sports. Life was one big practice, and then the “big game.” Football and baseball every year since I was about seven. That went on until I became too disinterested with school and such and dropped out of high school. Was I a rebel? Hmmm… Yes and no. The responsible, grown and mature side of me loves establishment, order and systems, but I also love thinking outside the box. I guess at that time in my life, I wasn’t older and more mature, and worse, I didn’t know much about life, so it was one of drifting, no real purpose or pursuits, couldn’t hold a job, didn’t have any real passion, and I didn’t know how I was going to make a difference in the world, or let alone that I could (sounds like a teenager, right?)

So what happened? That’s what the M2M podcast is all about! I don’t think my life experiences are too unique. In fact I think my life is very similar to everyone else’s. But, what I did discover, well, that is unique! amazing! And life transforming! I realized it was “out of the box” right away, but not a weird, quirky “stay away from me” kind of “out of the box.” However, that being said, I realized that it was out of the norm enough that most people weren’t even aware of it, which wasn’t too bizarre, because at one point I wasn’t either, and I could totally see why.

It’s a philosophy of life, and most people are too busy or too distracted with getting on with the every day, time consuming demands of life–I can totally understand that. That being said, once I truly came to understand this philosophy and how it governed my life and everyone else’s, I felt an immediate desire and need to help people see it and understand it for themselves. This quote by John Widtsoe really resonates with me profoundly:

“Each person should give of his experience to others, so that none should do unnecessary work. In that manner, through the united effort of all, the whole race of progressive beings would receive an added onward impetus.”

So here we are; the journey begins. It will be a long and challenging one, but together we cannot fail. In fact, I believe our destiny is victory. So, here is to the first step in our thousand mile journey together. May we be blessed beyond anything we can imagine.”
